Our Gypsy Wagons are Situated in Brinkworth, on the edge of the Cotswolds, this was a traditional stopping place (atchin tan) for Gypsies in days gone by. Come here and enjoy a peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle of today.
We offer a comfortable stay in our genuine Gypsy Wagons, enabling you to experience life in the slow lane, staying in a Gypsy Wagon. You can experience first-hand the old Romany lifestyle, living outside, cooking on the ‘Chitty’ sitting on the large logs around the campfire in the evening, telling stories and watching the sun go down.
There is a picnic bench beside the wagons with umbrella for sunny afternoons and fairy lights add a bit of evening sparkle around the campsite.
The traditional double bed will be made up with clean fresh bedding for your stay and both gypsy wagons have sockets for phone charging if needed and a small electric cut glass lamp for dark nights. During colder months we provide a heater to take the edge off the outdoor life providing some warmth and comfort in our cosy little wagons.
There are public footpaths directly accessible from the campsite and a local country pub ‘The Three Crowns’ just a two minute walk away, serving delicious home cooked food and a drop of Real Ale.
The local town of Malmesbury is only 4 miles away and has a traditional butchers shop and plenty of places to get supplies. Malmesbury also has a variety of independent shops and some delightful coffee shops for a bit of lunch or a nice cup of tea and cake. The Abbey and the infamous Abbey Gardens are definitely worth seeing, or you could take a leisurely walk along the banks of the river Avon; which runs through Malmesbury and is accessible from the ground of the Abbey.
